Lis Jeppesen Biography

Notable: Born 1956; Royal Danish Ballet

Lis Jeppesen was born in Denmark in 1956. She trained at the Ballet School of the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. She became an apprentice in 1972 and in 1974 a dancer of the Royal Danish Ballet, where she was appointed principal in 1980 and character dancer in 1997.

She has danced a large number of roles with the Royal Danish Ballet, including Hilda in A Folk Tale, Clara in The Nutcracker, Elisa in The Conservatoire, the title roles in Giselle and La Sylphide, Teresina in Napoli, Swanilda in Coppelia. Her character roles include Madge in La Sylphide, Veronica in Napoli and Viderik in A Folk Tale.
