Rimma Karelskaya Biography
Notable: Born 1927; Bolshoi Ballet
Rimma Karelskaya was born in Kaluga in 1927. She studied at the Moscow Choreographic School (class of Maria Kozhuhova). She graduated in 1946 and joined the Bolshoi Ballet where she further improved her skills for Marina Semyonova. In 1960 she created the role of the Tsar-Maiden in The Humpbacked Horse (Radunsky version). She retired in 1973 and is now a teacher-repetiteur at the Bolshoi. She is coaching Inna Petrova, Irina Semirechenskaya and Anna Rebetskaya.
