Lucia Lacarra Biography

Notable: Born 1975; Bavarian State Ballet, Munich

Lucia Lacarra was born in 1975 near San Sebastian, Spain. She studied with Victor Ullate in Madrid. She joined Roland Petit’s National Ballet of Marseille in 1994 as a principal dancer. Three years later she moved to San Francisco Ballet. Since 2002 she is a principal with Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich.

Repertoire includes:

  • In Marseille; Notre Dame de Paris and Le Jeune homme et la Mort
  • In San Francisco; Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Gsovskys Grand Pas Classique, and The Cage, In the Night and Dancing at a Gathering by Jerome Robbins, and also six Balanchine ballets including Serenade and Diamonds
  • In Munich; Raymonda, Swan Lake and Onegin
