Diana Vishneva was born in St Petersburg in 1976. She graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of Prof. Lyudmila Kovaleva). During her last year at the Academy started working at Mariinsky Theatre. Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 1995. Became a principal in 1996.
